Changes that we have made during Covid-19 that will enable us to run our courses safely.
Following government guidelines, we are amending our risk assessments and implementing new procedures & safety measures ongoingly.
All changes have been made in accordance with current guidelines and will be subject to change as safety advice is updated.
Before booking a course or purchasing a gift voucher we ask that you please consider your individual Covid-19 risk category. Please let us know if you fall into the ‘clinically vulnerable’ or ‘clinically extremely vulnerable’ category. We will not ask you to disclose any personal information, but instead will work with you to protect your health and safety.
Our courses are run with only two participants at any one time. This makes them fairly straightforward to run whilst being mindful of maintaining social distance. We have also implemented the following measures to better protect your health and safety:
The space and equipment is thoroughly disinfected prior to participants arriving at our venue.
The initial meet and greet is carried out in the courtyard or large main studio space so that participants can maintain social distancing.
To provide additional space during the course we have relocated one of our bench mounted grinders to our outside work station, which is under cover and sheltered from the elements.
Each course attendee is provided with a personal single-use mask that will prevent the inhalation of metal and wood dust and help create a covid-secure environment.
Disinfecting wipes, sprays and paper towels are provided to wipe down equipment handles and buttons throughout the session. Each course participant will be provided with their own new pair of work gloves for the weekend. They will be a unique colour to prevent confusion.
We ask that participants pay close attention to their health and wellbeing and monitor for symptoms associated with Covid-19 prior to arriving for the course.
If you feel unwell or are displaying any Covid-19 symptoms, we are happy to reschedule you to a course at a later date.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us on info@KoivuKnives.com if you have any questions and inquiries regarding our practices.
